Key Insights

This document presents an analysis of the involvement of Public Development Banks (BPD) in the water sector in Latin America. Based on a review of 8 national, regional and bilateral BPD case studies, this document seeks to evaluate the hypothesis that national public development banks have a fundamental role to play in obtaining financing for the achievement of both the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 6 and the objectives of the Paris Agreement related to water, but that this potential is underutilized.
