Practical Guide for Cumulative Impact Assessment and Management in Latin America and the Caribbean

This guidance document aims to help IDB Invest clients, government entities, and civil society to promote collaborative approaches for the management of cumulative impacts on valued ecosystem components. These collaborative approaches aim to represent the interests of a wide range of parties who are pursuing the development of “green” infrastructure, maintaining the sustainability of the natural environment, and the diverse livelihoods of all those who live in LATAM. Cumulative impact assessment and management is often cited by IDB Invest clients as one of the most difficult challenges both to ensure the environmental and social approval of projects, as well as to meet the requirements for their financing in Latin America and the Caribbean.
