Key Insights

At the Paris Climate Conference (COP21), held in December 2015, 195 countries approved the first global binding agreement on climate, whose purpose is to keep an increase in the global mean temperature well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels and continue to work to limit that temperature increase even further to 1.5°C. The governments agreed to report regularly on the reduction of emissions every five years. With this publication, IDB Invest wants to express our certainty that all resources we grant to our clients help reverse the negative trends that contribute to climate change and undermine sustainability. We understand that our investments have the capacity to change the detrimental behavior patterns of economic agents, reduce emissions, mitigate impacts resulting from environmental problems and limit the associated costs. In short: Investing in Reversing. You can also download Volume 2 of Investing in Reversing, launched in 2023, focusing on inclusive recovery.
