Actions to Mobilize Capital to Emerging Markets and Developing Economies

This report presents an update on the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ)'s ‘Mobilising Capital’ workstream progress. This workstream supports the acceleration of ‘capital allocation in support of the net-zero transition in Emerging Markets and Developing Economies (EMDEs)’. This workstream focuses on three areas deemed ‘critical’: - Data and transparency: improving the tracking and understanding of financial flows supporting EMDE climate transitions and the enabling environment actions that influence them. - Support for EMDE transition: providing support for EMDE implementation of climate-related practices and standards, with a significant opportunity to utilise the GFANZ regional networks to enhance knowledge sharing and capacity building. - Investment: working to increase the mobilisation of finance to accelerate the transition of key sectors and deployment of climate solutions in EMDEs, through greater public-private collaboration in country-focused financing.
